Since the release of the infamous Big Typhoon, its superior performance and silence has received numerous recognitions from gamers and reviewers around the world. In 2006, Thermaltake Technology will bring the world the new upgrade: the Big Typhoon VX. The Big Typhoon VX will retain the excellent thermal performance of the original Big Typhoon; its fan speed will also be adjustable for even better performance for the die-hard enthusiasts.

The biggest difference between the two is that the Big Typhoon VX now utilizes a tool-less locking mechanism. The mounting process is now much faster and much easier. The Big Typhoon VX is suitable for Intel Socket LGA775, AMD Socket AM2, and standard K8 processors.

The Big Typhoon VX inherited the Big Typhoon's style in both appearance and performance. The precise equal-length heatpipe technology is high in efficiency, transfers heat extremely fast, and directs the heat from the core to the fins smoothly. The proprietary soldering process used by Thermaltake enables the Big Typhoon VX to be one of the best coolers on the market.

The Big Typhoon utilizes a 120mm manually adjustable fan that spins from 1300 to 2500rpm. The lowest audio output is 16 dBA, and the user can adjust the speed of the fan according to their preference and needs. On the fan, there is also a vortex fan grill to prevent users from accidentally interfering the fans with fingers.
