AOpen sets another milestone in the miniaturized PC market with its new MiniPC incarnation, the MP945-VXR. The new MP945-VXR provides a silent computing environment, power conservation, and excellent performance by integrating Intel Core Duo processors with Intel Viiv and AOpen's (Mobile on Desktop Technology) MoDT platforms. Aside from a new modular setup of the miniPC's internal design, the MP945-VXR comes with an attractive new look as well:

The AOpen MoDT technology differentiates the MP945-VXR from competition, and makes AOpen the No. 1 brand of SFF products. The MoDT architecture incorporates standards-based notebook components into traditional desktop platforms. The result is a cool, quiet, high-performance environment for building thin and light machines. MoDT brings together Windows XP Media Center Edition, PDP (plasma display), big screen LCD and other high-end parts that make the personal computer the center of the home entertainment system.

In addition, MoDT empowers channel partners to create unique new products that address the needs of their local markets, resulting in greater differentiation in the market and increased competitive advantage. The new MP945-VXR miniPC is also the ideal solution for digital video recording and set top box environments, digital office and vertical applications in an area of digital signage, kiosk, gaming, and digital healthcare environments.

The new MP945-VXR miniPC has a 16.5cm by 16.5cm footprint and weighs less than five pounds. A motherboard design houses a CPU socket for Core Duo, Intel 945GM core logic, DDR2-SODIMM memory banks x1 slot and a mini-PCI expansion slot. The AOpen miniPC also includes a built-in component, S-Video, composite out port as well as 5.1 channel audio.

The MP945-VXR features Gigabit Ethernet, DVI, Firewire and USB 2.0. A SATA riser allows the 2.5" hard drive and slot-loading DVD burner to easily detach and reattach to the motherboard.
