Toshiba announced its first notebook with Tablet PC functionality aimed at the consumer market, the Satellite R20. Enabling easy internet connectivity via integrated Wireless LAN 802.11 a/b/g, advanced security functions, an integrated DVD player/burner and 14.1-inch widescreen, the Satellite R20 is an ideal mobile computing solution for users that want the entertainment features of a consumer notebook combined with the robustness of a commercial solution. Powered by Intel Centrino Duo Mobile Technology, and built on the latest Intel architecture, the Satellite R20 provides high performance, architecture robustness and creative freedom either at home or on the go.

The Satellite R20 is an advanced Tablet PC that combines sophisticated security features, including Toshiba's Biometric FingerPrint Reader, with the benefits of a high resolution 14-inch widescreen (WXGA+) LCD display. The security functionality allows single sign-on, which secures access to data and simplifies password management for small business users by by-passing BIOS/HDD/Windows passwords with a single touch.

The new chassis design of the Satellite R20 means mobile computing is a breeze with the Toshiba Shock Absorbing Design, reinforcing internal components to better protect critical features against potential damage, including LCD protection and HDD protection with 3D Accelerometer. Daily productivity is also increased through innovative and intuitive features including hand writing recognition to quickly take notes using the digital pen function, an ideal option for those in education, creative amateurs or freelancers searching for a price sensitive Tablet PC without compromising quality and performance.
