Over 2Q 2006, Acer outpaced again its direct competitors by registering an increase of 35,7%, equivalent to more than 3 times the growth of the market itself (IDC preliminary data 2Q06)
"It is more and more evident that the more significant growths are registered on emerging countries where economic situation is dynamic in a lively way" comments Gianfranco Lanci, President Acer Inc.
In the EMEA Region, Acer consolidated its leadership in the notebook sector by posting a 22% annual growth rate (2Q05 vs 2Q06), strengthening its Top Ranking with a 19,1% market share in 2Q06 (Gartner data 2Q06).

Acer U.K. posts excellent performance during the second quarter 2006 reaching second place in the notebook sector with 14,4% market share thanks to a 35,4% YoY growth.
