Lite-On announces DVD-rewriter with lightscribe

Lite-On IT will introduce a new 16x internal DVD drive to the market in august: the SHM-165H6S. It is a very complete optical drive, which features both LightScribe direct disc labeling and DVD-RAM compatibility. Writing speeds of the new drive are stated by Lite-On as 16x for DVD ±R, 8x for double layer discs, 4x for dual layer discs, 8x dor DVD+RW and 6x for DVD-RW. The drive also supports DVD-RAM, which can be written at a maximum of 5x speed.

The SHM-165H6S is the next drive in the line of Lite-On Super AllWrite drives. Super AllWrite is the term that Lite-On uses to emphasize the drive's compatibility with all possible media: DVD±R(W) (DL), DVD-RAM and CD-R(W). According to Lite-On this makes it the perfect solution for all optical storage requests.
