Those worried about workplace hygiene will welcome Belkin's newly announced product, a washable mouse. Thanks to a scroll strip instead of a mouse wheel this is one mouse that keeps dirt firmly out, and will in fact survive a thorough cleanup under running water.
The Washable Mouse also works on many household surfaces, including upholstery and wood - thus claims the manufacturer. Of course this is a fairly common trait for optical mice, but viewed in the light of this mouse's hardiness when it comes to getting dirty it does create a new dimension for use by children, for example.
