The Sapphire HD 2900 XT series also incorporates the latest ATI Avivo HD Technology for enhanced Video display as well as hardware accelerated decoding of Blu-ray and HD DVD content. Two dual link DVI outputs are provided and the system is CrossFire Multi-GPU Ready. HDMI users are supported with another new feature that multi-channel 5.1 Audio is integrated on board with the graphics output to provide true audio and video output via an HDMI adapter for direct connection of an HDMI ready TV.
The HD2900 XT Toxic features a drive-bay mounted water cooling system with integrated reservoir, pump and radiator system, which should be efficient enough to cool not just the graphics card, but optionally a CrossFire pair of Sapphire HD 2900 XT cards, the system CPU or other components. In the Toxic edition, the standard Sapphire HD 2900 XT Engine clocks of 750 MHz can be enhanced by over 15% and Memory speeds increased significantly above the standard 1650 MHz.
Sapphire is already shipping standard editions of its HD2900 XT - and is expected to announce other family members in the coming weeks.
