External storage devices usualy only have one major disadvantage, which is the speed that they operate at as this is never going to be as fast as an internal drive.  Iomega is  trying to work around this issue by introducing a firewire RAID NAS that can reach an average troughput of around 40MB/sec and higher when using FireWire. For users that do not have a FireWire port in their systems the device is also equipped with a USB 2.0 port.

The Power Pro 2TB will be for sale from the end of April onwards, the recommended retail price for the NAS device will be 1,799 euros.
