Adtron has announced Solid State Flash Disks with a very high capacity of 160 GB and IDE or SATA interface. We've recently tested a 16 GB PQI Flash disk, which turned out to offer disappointing read and write speeds. Adtron promises higher performance: the IDE version should be able to hit the 70 MB/s mark, while the SATA version is a bit slower with speeds between 55 and 65 MB/s. AdTron uses the high quality SLC NAND kind of flash memory. Besides 160 GB models, Adtron is also planning to introduce flash disks with a capacity of 32 of 96 GB. More at Dailytech and Golem .
