RegHardware has received an engineering sample more info on ASUS' upcoming W5FE notebook with Windows Vista SideShow technology. This notebook features a secondary 2.8 inch screen with QVGA resolution (320x240 pixels) that implemented in the lid. The screen utilizes 1 GB flash memory that includes a seperate operating system that's communication with Vista on the hard drive.

SideShow enables you to listen to music, play simple games or check your email and agenda without opening your laptop. The SideShow screen even works when the laptop is in stand-by, although the main OS will be waken up regularly to update the data on the SideShow screen. More info here.
