Acer presents the Core i7-powered Aspire AS8940G-6865 laptop

To spice up this holiday shopping season Acer is updating its Aspire line of portable PCs with a new 18.4-inch model, one powered by Intel's 1.6 GHz Core i7 720QM mobile processor. Dubbed Aspire AS8940G-6865, the laptop runs Windows 7 Home Premium, has a backlit keyboard, a 18.4-inch display with a top resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, the Touch-Capacitive Media Control Interface, and is equipped with 4GB of RAM, a 500GB hard drive, a GeForce GTS 250M graphics card with 1GB of dedicated VRAM, and a 4x Blu-Ray drive. "This new Aspire notebook offers multimedia enthusiasts the ultimate in mobile entertainment - cinematic quality sound and visuals, an industry-leading feature set, and the performance to handle demanding digital media," said Preeta Anil, Product Manager, Notebooks for Acer America. "The addition of Intel's new Core i7 processor further boosts the power and performance of the Aspire AS8940G for games, movies, videos and more." The laptop packs a multi-gesture touchpad, a multi card reader, a built-in webcam, Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi, a Dolby Home Theater certified sound system with five speakers, and an 8-cell battery, The Aspire AS8940G-6865 can be found priced at $1,350.
