Best known for its RAM (and maybe a little for SSDs), Patriot Memory is branching out (some more) with the release of its first media player, the Box Office. The new device measures 17.1 (L) x 16.8 (W) 13.5 (H) cm and weights 538.2 grams, it supports Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound, and will provide up to 1080p video playback of media found on flash drives, external hard drives or on its (optional) 2.5-inch internal HDD/SSD. "Patriot's Box Office brings the digital revolution to the home audience," says Jack Chen, Patriot's Business Development Manager. "Contrary to some popular media devices in the market, the Box Office is simply an all in one solution combining high definition media play back, file copy/ move/ transfer capability between sources, P2P download management, industry's leading video preview function, and even compatible for internet video streaming with 3rd party software." The Box Office includes HDMI 1.3 and composite video connections, three USB 2.0 ports, has support for multiple file formats, including H.264, ISO, VOB, DivX, xVid, MKV, MOV and MPEG, and will connect your TV to the web via 10/100 Ethernet or the optional WiFi USB adapter. Patriot's HD media player can now be found on pre-order priced at $130.
