Asus has recently unveiled the new Xonar Essence ST sound card which looks quite decent. Xonar Essence ST boasts 124dB SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio), and features PCI interface instead of PCIe X1. This card requires external 4pin power connector. The pricing or availability are unclear yet.
