Nice guide. You covered just about everything except that I have found when working with smaller (1/8"-1/4") sleeving, you need to cut the sleeving with a hot knife to prevent fraying of the ends. What I do is use a single edge razor blade like you find in a utility knife, clamp the blade with locking pliers (ViseGrip) and use a propane torch or gas stove burner to heat the blade. Then I will lay the sleeving on a wooden surface such as a cutting board and push straight down to cut the sleeving (sawing back and forth not recommended).

Good tip, heating a sharp knife or a new pair of scissors before cutting the sleeving to size prevents fraying.

Not to forget the best tip of all, take your time when doing mods like this, it'll save you so much frustration.
