The most important parts of the computercase that need the mats are the side panels, as these are the biggest and usually of thin steel or aluminium. Because of the size and materials used these panels will let noise through very easily and may even enhance noises and vibrations. The place to start is therefore the side panels, which can take a complete mat. Pay attention to the way the panels are applied to the case, and make sure that the parts needed to attach the panel back to the case are free.
