Introduction
Zyxel is aiming purely for gamers with their latest introduction, the 802.11g Wireless MIMO router P-336M. The choice of segment results in a few features, like very extensive Quality of Service possibilities and standard profiles for most of the current games. In our tests the P-336M proved to be a very good product, also for people that do not just use the PC for gaming.

Zyxel 802.11g Wireless MIMO Router [P-336M]
The router sports a normal ethernet port as WAN connection, and can be used for either cable or ADSL internet when you use a seperate modem. The actual router is nothing special, it has two sturdy aerials but the actual design is quite boring. As usual the router has a 4 port Megabit switch, the step to actual Gigabit ports has not been made yet. On top of the casing we find some status LED's, and because of its USB port the router can also be used a print server, which we find a definte advantage.
The WLAN-part is compatble with the 802.11g standard, but Zyxel decided to use MIMO technolgy (Multiple Input Multiple Output) as we have seen on other routers. Because of the use of more than one aerial MIMO technology is capable of reducing the disadvantages that come with wireless networking, so in theory the throughput using this technology is higher if you use compatile WLAN adapters from the same series. Zyxel offers the MIMO compatible Wireless Cardbus Card for laptops, and claims a throughput of 108mbps with the P-336M. When using a standard WLAN adapter the speed is a maximum of 54 mbps, standard 802.11g speeds.
