Once opened, the notebook reveals a basic black finish. There is little difference with other ASUS notebooks, except for the text "Automobili Lamborghini" which is repeated just beneath the navigational keys and on the wireless mouse which comes as standard. The Blue tooth receiver for the wireless mouse has been integrated into the notebook itself adding a final stylish flourish to the overall design. It's a shame that ASUS has only applied the extravagant styling to the exterior of the case, as everybody but you can actually see the true pedigree of the notebook when your using it. This choice of styling, contrary to what you might believe, is not a coincidence. You get exactly the same feeling when getting into a real Lamborghini, as the design of the inside of the Murciélago has in fact been done under the strict supervision of Audi.

Ignoring the current market trend, the Lamborghini VX1 does not have a wide screen, but a classic 15" screen with 1400x1050 pixels, not a very common resolution for modern day notebooks. Like most notebooks nowadays the screen has a glossy finish to enhance the colours, but this in turn causes reflections when the lighting is not optimal.
