ASUS EAX1600PRO HDMI

ASUS's EAX1600PRO HDMI is a low profile card that's based on the ATI Radeon X1600 Pro 3D chip. A special low profile bracket is provided to make the card suitable for smaller Media Center cases. Apart from the eponymous HDMI connector, the card has a regular, analog D-Sub port. The soundcard's signal can be added to the HDMI signal both internally and externally. The card uses an active cooling solution and has 256 MB of memory at its disposal. Compared to the Radeon X1600 HDMI cards PowerColor and Sapphire offer, the clock rate is relatively low: 400 MHz for the 3D chip as well as the memory. The Radeon X1600 Pro has never been a speed demon, so we wouldn't recommend it for 3D gaming anyway. ATI's AVIVO technology provides for outstanding picture quality and that's what matters with this video card. At the time of writing, the ASUS EAX1600PRO HDMI can sadly not be found in any online price lists.
