The ultimate gaming experience with three monitors?

HD Video

To give an impression of the experience that TripleHead gaming offers, we have made a short video in which the games GTR 2 (demo) and Unreal Tournament 2004 are shown. The video is saved in the Windows Media HD format and requires a modern PC with Windows Media Player for playback.

Conclusion

Gaming on three screens is truly a marvelous experience. The additional screens add more to some games than others, and although the supported games list now covers 100 games, not every game lends itself to this approach. We greatly appreciated the added value in racing games and first person shooters, but also strategy games and RPGs offer a new experience when they are played on multiple monitors. Regrettably the current version of the TripleHead2Go cannot yet be used with DVI, and according to Matrox we don’t have to expect a short-term successor that does offer this.

The price of the TripleHead2Go is considerable, but taking into account the excellent picture quality and the unique functionality it is certainly not too high. Many new games are suited to being played on three monitors, though especially the menus can be tricky to navigate because these are stretched horizontally. However this is easy to make do with and these drawbacks do not detract from the advantage of a much wider in-game view. For gamers with a fast PC and desk space for three monitors, the TripleHead2Go is highly recommended!
