ASUS has announced the G51J-SZ028V, a notebook that is to offer a 3D-gaming experience. The laptop has been equipped with a 120 Hz screen which, combined with the bundled 3D-glasses, creates a depth-effect in 3D environments. The 3D glasses connect wirelessly to the laptop and charging the device is done through USB. This new gaming notebook is part of the Republic of Gamers series and will only be released in a limited quantity.
Apart from a flashy appearance, the ASUS G51J-SZ028V features a Core i7-720QM processor, 4 GB of memory and two 320 or 500 GB hard disks. The notebook uses a 1GB GeForce GTX260M graphics card to power the 15,6" screen. Both the keyboard and screen have been equipped with LED-lighting, making the keys more readable in the dark and the screen run more economically.
The notebook includes a Blu-ray drive, 8-in-1 cardreader, ExpressCard slot, eSATA, HDMI, Gbit Ethernet and integrated webcam. Bluetooth and WiFi modules have also been integrated. It's still unclear how long the notebook will run on its 6-cell battery. ASUS' new laptop also sports the Express Gate OS, a small operating system that can be booted from a flashmodule soldered on the motherboard. ASUS will release the notebook in late november, in both the colours black and blue. Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bits will be pre-installed.
