AirLive expands its AirCam series of network camera's with the POE-200HD, a CMOS camera designed for security application. The POE-200HD is -as the name suggests- powered by Power-over-Ethernet. This makes it possible to power the device and retrieve data using a single cable.

The 1,3 megapixel image can be transported over a local network, the internet and to mobile phones. The new AirCam is equipped with a H.264 encoder, which according to AirLive results in video files that require up to 80% less storage capacity and bandwidth in comparison to MJPEG and up to 50% when compared with MPEG-4. The bundled software supports up to 32 channels.

More information on the AirLive POE-200HD can be found on the product page. The camera features a recommended pricetag of 215 euro.
