Belkin cable for Windows 7 Easy Transfer

The Windows Easy Transfer utility makes it easy to transfer files and configuration settings from an old computer to a new Windows 7 system. Belkin has released a special USB cable that can be used to initiate the required transmission; the cable has a male connector on both sides.

The signal of Easy Transfer can also be processed via LAN, an external hard disk or optical media. Microsoft states that up to 20 GB an hour can be transferred using a USB-interface. Belkin's F5U279-cable has a pricetag of $40 USD and will not be available in Europe till early 2010.

The Easy Transfer utility is compatible with Windows XP, Vista and 7 and is capable of transferring program configurations, email and the adress book. Additional information can be found on Microsoft's website.
