PowerColor reports that it has joined forces with EK to produce its Radeon HD 5870 LCS (Liquid Cooling System) graphics card. Unsurprisingly, PowerColor will be using EK's FCS5870 waterblock on AMD's new topmodel.

The companies have cooperated earlier to create a watercooled card; the PowerColor Radeon HD 4890 LCS. Like that card, the new LCS-model is likely to be available in small quantities only. The clock frequencies will be equal to those of the reference model, leaving overclocking to the user. The reason for this is that the other watercooling components may provide users with variable results, making it uncertain whether all systems will be capable of running an equally high overclock.

It's expected that EK's HD 5870 waterblock will start selling on the 9th of October, with PowerColor's Radeon HD 5870 LCS following shortly afterwards.
