Corsair introduces 950 Watt power supply

Corsair has introduced a new 950 Watt power supply in its TX series. The PSU's most notable feature is the presence of a single powerful +12V rail, with a 78 Ampere capacity. Most power supplies use several +12V rails to balance the load, though most overclockers prefer a single rail. When a processor or graphics card  is overclocked to the point where it requires a significantly higher voltage, the spread capacity of multi-rail PSUs isn't as stable as a model with a powerful single rail. Corsair states that the power supply is intended for users of quadcore processors and multiple graphics cards in SLI or Crossfire.

The supply is cooled by a 140 mm fan, which spins at full power when the components reach a temperature of 50 degrees. Since this isn't a common situation, Corsair reports that the supply operates rather silently. The Corsair TX950W features an 80Plus Bronze certificate and reaches a maximum efficiency of 85%. The PSU has a total of six PEG6/8 power-connectors, to be compatible with the most extreme of systems. Prices have not yet been mentioned.
