MSI will expand its Classic Series with the 15,6" CR500. The new entry model sports dimensions of 374 x 246 x 30 mm (W*D*H) and weighs 2,5 kg with the standard 6-cell battery. The 6-cell battery can be replaced by an optional 9-cell battery. The 15,6" screen features a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution and can be equipped with an Intel dual-core T3000 or T4200 processor, as well as up to 4 GB of DDR2 memory. In terms of internal storage, hard disk capacities of 250 GB, 320 GB and 500 GB can be chosen between. Graphics are provided by the integrated nVidia GeForce 8200M chipset. Given the specifications, it's safe to say that the notebook's primary function is multimedia use.

Also present are a DVD-burner, 4-in-1 cardreader, 1,3 megapixel webcam, WiFi and Gigabit Ethernet connector. The CR500 can be connected to an external monitor by means of an HDMI and a VGA connector. MSI's new notebook will initially feature Windows Vista and is to be released soon at a still-unknown price.
