[Computex09] ASUS shows 3th generation Matrix
ASUS has a third generation Matrix graphics card on display on its Computex stand. The matching ASUS iTracker2 tool not only allows users to adjust clock frequencies and voltages of the chip and the memory on-the-fly, but even makes it possible to modify the memory timings. ASUS claims that it will be possible for overclockers to reach an even greater performance this way.
If you've found the ideal settings, the iTracker2 software allows you to save your configurations in the card's BIOS. If the applied settings result in an ubstable system, the new Matrix-cards have a so-called safe-button. This button is best compared to a Clear CMOS button, as it resets the cards BIOS to its original configuration.
Another new thing is that the side of the card features LED-lighting. The amount of load can be determined based on the light's color.
The working Matrix 3 card that ASUS displayed was based on an nVidia GeForce GTX 285 GPU, but according to the product managers, there are already plans to apply this design to several other high-end GPUs.

The new ASUS Matrix GeForce GTX 285 card with improved cooler. The safe-button is positioned next to the DVI-connector.

The new iTracker2 software even allows the memory timings to be adjusted.
