Following ASUS and HP, MSI introduces a desktop pc which has the LCD-screen and components in a single case. The MSI Wind NetOn features an Intel Atom N270 processor, clocked at 1.6 GHz, as well as 1 GB of DDR2-memory and a 160 GB 5400 rpm 2.5" SATA-disk. The 15.6 or 18.5 inch screen can be equipped with touchscreen functionality. The 1366x768 resolution is powered by a 945GSE+ICH7M chipset.
The NetOn is attached to a local network through Gigabit LAN or 802.11 b/g wireless. MSI has also added a 1.3 megapixel camera, two 3W stereospeakers, an XD/SD/MMC/MS cardreader and a slimline DVD-burner to the system. As additional option, DVB-T support can be integrated as well. The 'nettop' uses an external power supply to prevent heat problems.
MSI's Wind NetOn should become available in mid-January. The price will be dependant on the chosen configuration (touchscreen, screen diagonal, DVB-T) and the picked operating system (Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows XP Home or SuSE Linux). The 15.6" model with Windows XP will cost about 500 euro and the 18.5" model with touchscreen approximately 100 euro more. A 22" NetOn is expected n March.
