Sandisk lost US $155 million in the third quarter of this year, a significant to the profit of US $85 million in the same quarter 2007. As a result of the grim economic expectations, it's been rumored that the company has informed its employees that several of the workers will have to be let go.

The rumor states that approximately 450 of the 3000 worldwide jobs will be cut, which means that a total of 15% of the employees will be fired. This should keep the company out of the red sales figures. Sandisk has not yet officially responded to these rumors.
