Creative silently added a new model to its line-up of PCI-Express soundcards. The Titanium is to be a cheaper alternative to the earlier introduced Fatality Professional and Fatality Champions versions and will lack certain features.

The Creative X-Fi Titanium

To make the Titanium soundcard cheaper, Creative has left out the black protective cover and the name Fatality. The differences in hardware aren't that big, the only thing the cheaper Titanium lacks is the 64MB of X-Ram memory. The card uses the same X-Fi chip as the more expensive Fatality serie, meaning that is has features like EAX5, CMSS 3D and the X-Fi Crystalizer. Apart from the conventional analog audio-connectors, the card also has an optical in- and output.

Creative lists the new Titanium at a price of $99,99 on its website, making it $50 cheaper than the Fatality version with X-Ram and the protective cover.
