Acer has completed an external graphics card for its Ferrari One notebook. The Ferrari One is equipped with an XGP port, which can be used as an external connector for a PCI-Express graphics card. The concept behind XGP -an interface designed by AMD- is that it allows the notebook to be used at home with a fast graphics card, while it can be detached from the system for outdoor usage. This makes it possible to have a compact and efficient notebook, whilst retaining the option to play videogames. Acer's new accessory is branded DynaVivid dock and is meant for gamers.

The external module contains a Radeon HD4670 Mobility graphics card, which is equipped with an HDMI and VGA connector. The HD 4670 will make it possible to play slightly more demanding games, though it's not a miracle worker. Apart from the video-outputs, the DynaVivid sports six USB ports, allowing it to function as a docking station as well. The device has dimensions of 193,5 x 193,5 x 32,8 mm and weighs about 650 grams. To power the graphics card, Acer bundles an external power adaptor, making the solution far from mobile.

The DynaVivid will start shipping in November, featuring a pricetag of about $199.
