LG's new BD390 combines a Blu-ray player with a media player. The BD390, spotted during the IFA09 earlier this month, is capable of playing online media, Blu-ray media and digital files.

The integrated 1 GB memory allows users to store videos to watch them at a later time. By means of DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance), the device can be added to a network using a wireless LAN-connection. LG's BD390 is compatible with MPEG4-video, JPEG, MP3, WMA, DivX HD- and MKV-files. It's also possible to play these files from a USB-flashdrive or external hard disk of the NTFS file system. The LG BD390 supports BD Live and is compatible with Dolby True HD and DTS-HD. The 7.1 analog audio output provides surround sound for users whose receivers do not have HDMI.

The Express Reaction Mode is to take care of a fast start-up and loading time. LG claims that a Blu-ray disc can be played in 18 seconds when the BD390 is turned on from standby. In this standby mode, the device uses less than 1 Watt of power. LG's BD390 is to cost about 270 euro.
