Fujitsu introduces the affordable Primergy TX100 S1 server, the successor to its Econel 100 S2. The server will be retailed without software and Fujitsu claims that it is perfectly suited for users in need of an entry model server at the price of a regular PC.

The new Primergy has an integrated storage capacity of up to 4 TB in RAID 0/1 and supports the EPA-guidelines and ENERGY STAR 5.0 standard. Fujitsu reports that the design is to provide an airflow that allows the server to operate silently. The TX100 S1 is available at a recommended price of €495. Additional specifications can be found on Fujitsu's website (PDF).
