Patriot recently announced a new series of SSD's, branded Koi. The 2,5" drives are designed for use with Apple's Macintosh systems and are connected by means of a SATA-interface. Patriot claims that Apple has thoroughly tested the SSD's for compatibility and stability.

The Koi SSD's feature 64 MB of DRAM cache and the manufacturer specifies its sequential reading speeds at a maximum of 260 MB/s. The writing speed is claimed to reach up to 180 MB/s. Initially, only two models will be available, a 128 and a 256 GB version. Both of the drives come with a five-year warranty plan. Pricing and availability is still unknown.
