Texas Memory Systems has launched a new Storage Area Network (SAN). The RamSan-440, as the device is called, breaks several records, at a price between US $150.000 and US $275.000, the RamSan-440 offers a constant transit speed of an incredible 4.500 MB/sec and 600.000 I/O's per second.

The RamSan-440 has a 4U case and is available in a 256GB and a 512GB version. The case contains SSD's in a RAID-setup, making the data's access times hardly exceed 0 ms. The RamSan-440 features eight Fibre Channel connectors and is meant as a super fast backup solution.
