Belkin introduces Wireless HDMI

Belkin introduces a product that makes Wireless HDMI possible. The FlyWire will be available in two models; a single-room and a multi-room unit. Products like cable- and satellite-receivers, Blu-ray/DVD players and game consoles can be used with the FlyWire, after which the signals are transferred to the TV or projector. Belkin says the connecting of devices is a simple plug and play process and that 1080p signals can be played without any problem.

The multi-room unit has three HDMI connectors and is able to switch between up to six devices. To control the devices, it is possible to use the remote of the connected device. The single-room unit does not have this feature.

Belkin's FlyWire multi-room unit will be launched in October at a recommended price of USD 1000,-.  The single-room unit will cost about USD 700,-.
