ATI's HD4870 X2 will release next week?

GPU Café reports that ATI's Radeon HD4870 X2 will be released next week. GPU Café says that the official releasedate has been set to the 14th of July, two weeks in advance of the earlier reported date. It's likely that the first reviews will appear shortly after this date and that it will atleast take till the end of the month before the card will be really available.

The base of the HD4870 X2 will exist of two RV770 GPU's and a PLX PCI-Express 2.0 bridge chip. This combination provides 1600 Shader Processors, 2x 256-bits memory interface and atleast 1GB of GDDR5 memory.
