ECS claims to be set to deliver the multimedia innovations of the AMD-ATI alliance to mid-range PC systems with the release of the AMD690GM-M2 microATX motherboard. Presenting a highly-scalable Socket AM2 AMD Athlon 64 FX/Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core/Athlon 64 processor, 16 GB dual-channel DDR2 800 memory support, integrated ATI Radeon Express X1250 graphics engine, 8-channel HD audio and expansive connectivity, the AMD690GM-M2 should be an ideal platform to run the graphics-driven Windows Vista Premium, ECS states.

The ATI Radeon Express X1250 graphics controller embedded in the AMD690 chipset is fueled with the ATI Avivo technology to provide high-definition graphics and video. The DVI port readily connects to a wide range of digital displays and should maximize the display quality on these devices. Aside from the guaranteed support for the upcoming Windows Vista OS, the AMD690GM-M2's integrated graphics engine represents a cost-effective solution that lowers energy consumption and the over-all system price.
Completing the AMD690GM-M2's multimedia prowess is the Realtek ALC883 audio codec. Through the multichannel audio jacks or the S/PDIF header, the AMD690GM-M2 supports a range of digital audio systems.
The AMD690GM-M2 supports up to ten USB 2.0 ports and integrated Gigabit LAN. For data storage, the motherboard supports up to four Serial ATA II devices with RAID 0, 1 and 0+1 functionality and includes a single-channel IDE interface as well. The 690GM-M2 also implements the rapid PCI Express technology with one PCI Express x16 slot for graphics expansion and two PCI Express x1 slots for additional I/O connectivity.
